The name Pangea refers to the only truly united world that ever existed. Millions of years ago, the world was literally made up of one massive continent called Pangaea. Pangea was the only united world and a precursor to today's Earth, where land mass is divided into separate continents that began to break apart about 200 million years ago. This is the reason it became the name of a mathematics competition. Mathematics is a universal language that unites the entire world. With Pangea Math World, we hope to bring a united world back to life through our love of mathematics.
